We love the youth football games. Parents can sign there kids up for the games and camps. All we need is better referees and umpires! Then in the last game, one of the other umpires completely blows a call. Most likely he caused a team to lose a game they should have won. The kids are nice easy going truly recreational team who didn't raise hell when it happened and they probably should have, but they didn't. The parents came to me after the game with respect and courtesy to inquire about the rule. Now I will have to deal with the asa code from the teamusa.org tomorrow because of their protest, which is seriously as much fun as getting a tooth pulled, but I will get through it and do what needs to be done. The umpire in question came to me and fell on the sword, took all blame and was legitimately upset about his mistake. He told me how bad he felt for screwing up and cheating the team out of their victory tonight. Ya know what, I adore him for it because actually caring about my teams is something I can't make them do and the fact that he does is priceless. Which, they need a victory Celebration for one stolen by a mistake. All the kids are getting a free on day entrance to DisneyQuest to make up for the error!
